BEFORE AND AFTER
SERVICE CARE

Pre-Service Care

-Please allow your hair to grow out for 7-10 days prior to your appointment. Anything less than 7 days will be too short and could be a waste of your time and money.

-1 week prior- Exfoliate and moisturize at least once a day. I recommend using an exfoliation glove (not an oily sugar scrub).

-3-4 days prior: Please avoid using any topical retinols, vitamin As, Cs, Ds, Salicylic Acid at least 3-4 days prior to appointment.

-Day of appointment- Please be sure to shower the day of your appointment. Doing so will help to prevent any contaminants from effecting your skin post service. Exfoliation is always encouraged but please DO NOT apply any products (lotions, oils, etc) to your skin the day of your service or the night before.

Post-Service Care

-The same day after your service and up to 36 hours after, avoid HOT situations such as:

            Exercising

Hot tubs and other community used pools

            Taking baths (showers only)

Avoid sun exposure and apply sunscreen when the sun can’t be avoided

And any other activities that will cause sweat, heat, and debris to be trapped against the                    skin.

I encourage you to exfoliate every day, however, please wait 3 days prior to sugaring services to start using your exfoliation gloves. Depending on how sensitive your skin is, you may need to wait a day or two more before exfoliating again. And moisturize daily.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Skin condition contraindications:

For the safety of your skin, I will not provide body sugaring services if you have received any (but not limited to) of the treatments listed below. Areas where skin conditions listed below (but not limited to) can be avoided and sugaring services can still be performed.

New sun burns and recent bruising

Irritated skin or areas of open skin

               Moles and skin tags

Chemical Peels and microdermabrasion (within 7 days)

Use of tanning bed within 24 hours of sugaring service

Laser skin resurfacing within the past year

Cancer Patients (any form of cancer)

               Cold sores that are present

               Infectious or contagious diseases

Active psoriasis or eczema (sugaring is actually good for psoriasis and eczema to help exfoliate and heal)

               Raised Varicose Veins

               Swelling

               Skin Rashes

The following medications are considered a contraindication and will require a physician to clear you prior to sugaring appointment. This is not a full list of medications that could be cause for concern so please talk to your doctor about any medication you are taking and follow their advice.

              Accutane

              Adapalene

              Alustra

              Avage

              Avita

              Differin

              Isotretinoin

              Revona

              Retin A

              Tazarac

              Tazarotene

              Tretinoin

These products thin the skin and will cause a negative effect. My #1 priority is the integrity of your skin and I will not compromise it in any way.

Q & A

Most commonly questions asked...

Q: What the heck is sugaring anyway?

A: In short, body sugaring is the process of removing hair at it's root using a paste made with only 3 ingredients, sugar, water and lemon.

Q: Is it like waxing?

A: Sugaring is comparable to waxing, however it is very different. Unlike waxing, Sugaring uses a technique that applies sugar paste against the hair and removes the hair in the natural direction that it grows. This technique helps prevent early regrowth, in grown hair, and results tend to last longer.

Q: How long do the results last?

A: Typically results last 4-6 weeks, but one thing to note is that hair growth depends on how quickly your body produces hair. Hormones, genetics and even stress are HUGE factors in the hair growth process.

Q: Does it hurt?

A: Well yeah. We are pulling hair from your skin after all lol. Pain is relative and depends on your pain tolerance. After a few consistent sessions, the pain level tends to decrease. It's also reported to hurt less than other hair removal processes.

Q: How long does my hair need to be for my appointment?

A: Body sugaring only requires 7 days of hair growth.
